Nationalism without a Nation in India
-- G Alosyius
Sumati Sumathi writes :
One of the most persuasive people to write on the hollow and casteist
core of our nationalism is G.Aloysius sir. I wish the teachers had
invited him for the 'teach-ins' on
nationalism in JNU. Aloysius sir's work 'Nationalism without a Nation in
India' should be primary reading and basis for understanding for anyone
seeking to discuss, understand and critique nationalism because it
completely exposes the brahmanical and exclusionary nature of
nationalism and nation building in India. Unfortunately very few
academics talk about him because he perhaps does not fit into their
uptight circles or academic jargon or quest to prove true nationalisms.
